It is considered one of the most important events in the party scene, bringing together fashion icons like Natalie Massanet and Sir Philip Green to mingle with celebrities and models. The competition for the title of best dressed is intense, as attendees strive to make a lasting impression with their fashion choices.

While some guests like Tamsin Egerton in her stunning red skirt receive praise for their stylish ensembles, others such as Courtney Love and Rihanna miss the mark. FEMAIL highlights the best and worst dressed guests at the BFA, commending those who nailed their looks and suggesting that others could use some fashion advice.

Miss Perfect: Emma Watson has mastered the art of red carpet dressing and looks wonderfully understated in this elegant ensemble

Emma Watson has become a pro at rocking the red carpet with her effortlessly elegant looks. On the other hand, Tamsin Egerton stole the show with her stylish red skirt and white top combo that outshone everyone else there. Fashion expert Simon Glazin praised Egerton for her choice of outfit, noting how the mermaid skirt suited her perfectly without trying to overshadow the more famous attendees.

Not to be outdone, Emma Watson maintained her reputation for pulling off chic and understated red carpet looks, while Victoria Beckham emerged as the night’s ultimate winner. Glazin commended Watson for her ability to exude youthful charm while effortlessly incorporating masculine elements into her wardrobe.

The Delevigne sisters, Cara and Poppy, also turned heads with their black and gold sequined outfits, while models Karlie Kloss and Erin O’Connor stunned in glamorous gowns. Glazin was thoroughly impressed by the overall fashion choices at the event.

Stylish: Cara Delevigne

Good look: Poppy Delevigne

Fashionable siblings: The Delevigne sisters are well-versed in the world of fashion and always manage to dazzle on the red carpet with their impeccable style.

Boho: Kate Moss

Quite a spectacle: Pixie Geldof chose a flattering prom style dress with a trendy snake print, while Kate Moss went for her classic boho dress look.

Chic: Olivia Palermo

Elegant: Victoria Beckham

Olivia Palermo and Victoria Beckham always shine at the BFA’s, and they didn’t disappoint this time. ‘When it comes to showing how it’s done, the supermodels never fail,’ he comments. ‘Karlie Kloss looked stunning in her silver gown, like liquid silver was draped over her.’
Erin O’Connor caught everyone’s attention with her dramatic yet romantic Emilia Wickstead outfit. ‘She knows how to work her height, and that bold red lip was the perfect touch,’ he adds.
Not to be outdone, Kate Moss showed that age is just a number in fashion. ‘Kate always brings the fun and retro vibes,’ Glazin remarks. ‘Her Alexander McQueen bat-wing mini dress was a refreshing change from the usual floor-length gowns. And that big hair of hers? Simply fabulous.’
Laura Carmichael, Tanya Burr, and Anna Kendrick proved that red carpet looks can be short and sweet, breaking away from the traditional long gowns.

Striking: Erin O'Connor

Karlie Kloss and Erin O’Connor stole the spotlight on the red carpet, dazzling fans with their elegant floor-length gowns and Hollywood glamor as Victoria’s Secret Angels.

Looking good: Model Laura Bailey was gorgeous in a fabulous floor-length pink gown while the ever-dapper Tom Ford sharpened up in a suit

Standing out among the crowd was model Laura Bailey, who looked stunning in a beautiful floor-length pink gown, while the always stylish Tom Ford was sharp in a suit.

Despite their efforts, not everyone in the model group got it quite right. Naomi Campbell’s outfit, which seemed to be two ill-fitting halves, failed to impress. Fashion critic Glazin commented, “I adore Naomi Campbell, but this look is a miss. It doesn’t exude supermodel vibes – more like Morticia Addams on a rough day. The bottom half is wrinkled, which is inexcusable, especially early in the evening. She should stick to Versace for events like this – Donatella would have certainly done her justice.”

On the other hand, Lily Donaldson, known for her classic style, attempted to add a hint of allure with a sheer skirt but missed the mark, appearing a bit frumpy due to her Bridget Jones-style undergarments.

While Donaldson and Campbell didn’t quite steal the show on the red carpet, Courtney Love and Rihanna certainly did, though not necessarily for the right reasons. Glazin expressed her shock at Courtney Love’s outfit, remarking, “Where do we even begin with Courtney? Well, let’s start at the beginning – who thought matching your eyeshadow with your dress and shoes was a good idea? It’s truly dreadful, but somehow, it works for Courtney – she’s known for pulling off unconventional looks.”

In conclusion, Bailey and Ford were true winners of the fashion game that night, while others, like Campbell and Donaldson, were urged to step up their style game.

Better with a bra: Courtney Love

Where's your dress? Rihanna

Not great: Courtney Love was lacking a bra for her pink dress to really pull it off, and Rihanna could have definitely used a better outfit choice to enhance her look.

Step down! The skirt was nice but Rita Ora's sparkly crop top was more school disco than awards show - as were her awful platform shoes

Step back! Rita Ora’s shiny crop top and platform shoes gave off a more casual school dance vibe rather than a glamorous awards show look. Alexa Chung’s dress overwhelmed her, while Daisy Lowe’s outfit could have been improved with better footwear. Ellie Goulding’s attire resembled that of a bride.

Meanwhile, Love made an effort to dress appropriately, unlike Rihanna who wore an ill-fitting oversized tuxedo jacket with little else. Despite a stunning diamond necklace, all attention was drawn to her large chest tattoo, with the addition of opaque black tights seeming out of place amidst all the exposed skin elsewhere.

“Initially, I was fond of Rihanna’s Stella McCartney ensemble, but the more I look at it, the less I like it,” remarked Glazin. “I particularly dislike the combination of tights, especially dark ones, with sandals.”

Another fashion faux pas was committed by Rita Ora, who mismatched a pretty black skirt with a crop top and platform shoes that looked out of place for the occasion. Ellie Goulding appeared to be dressed as a bride, while Laura Haddock’s choice of attire, a pistachio-colored flowing silk and lace gown reminiscent of the Regency period, was met with disapproval.

“Who convinced Laura Haddock that this was a flattering look? It’s frumpy and not suited to her shape,” criticized Glazin. “Save this style for reality show contestants or poorly dressed bridesmaids.”

Too much: Nicole Scherzinger

OTT: Ella Eyre

Nicole Scherzinger’s outfit had too many elements competing for attention, such as the pretty print, ruffle, and neckline. Singer Ella Eyre also faced a similar issue with her ensemble.

Too tight: Naomi Campbell

Unflattering: Lily Donaldson

Oh no, Naomi Campbell’s outfit was a mixed bag with both halves of the dress fitting poorly. Lily Donaldson’s dress, on the other hand, leaned towards the frumpy side. The choice of color wasn’t so great for Katie Denham and Laura Haddock, both struggling with unflattering shades and ill-fitting attire. Lily Allen also missed the mark with a wrinkled blue ensemble.
